Just a quick note: I found this excellent little online utility called the Wordpress Theme Generator that allows you to rapidly create a custom theme for your wordpress powered blog, without any knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, or any other variety of alphabet soup. Playing around with it was fun, fast and easy. I created the theme you see in the little screenshot in under 5 minutes. Every change you make is updated in real time, and once you are happy with your creation, you can download your shiny new theme as a zip file, ready to install on your blog. How cool is that.
The theme created is widget ready, and sports some very cool features, including the ability to use your own custom header image, and background overlays. The footer includes a small selection of licenses for your blog. For those of us who like to roll our own, it allows for rapid prototyping that we can then customize later to our heart’s content. It also occurs to me that it might be a fairly painless way to quickly test out that new color scheme you dreamed up last Saturday night at that party you probably should not have gone to… You know the one I mean… But I digress…
